Earth Lore

On Monday we went on an exciting mystery trip, ending up at the Earthlore Insect Theme Park in Owaka. We had an amazing time with lots of fun activities  including being caught in a giant spider web, watching Great Orlando's Magical Flea Circus Puppet Show, working with Inspector Insector to solve the case of the murdered butterfly, dressing up in different costumes we found in the gypsy caaravan, playing the Bug Frisbee game and meeting the friendly and very hungry donkeys, geese and sheep.
A fun time was had by all!
Many thanks to Mrs Preece and Stacey for providing the transport.

Discovery Time

We love our Discovery Time.  We've tried all sorts of activities and enjoyed them all.  Making truffles, clay creations, construction, knitting, building with classroom resources...

A Day at Tuhuru

We had THE most fabulous day at the Tuhura Otago Community Trust Science Centre at Otago Museum.  Thank you to the museum for making this day possible for us, free of charge, on your birthday. What a wonderful learning place!

Many wonderful activities were available during the day.  We found time to enjoy most of them, including butterflies in the tropical forest and the fabulous planetarium.

Thanks to Stacey for transporting and helping us, Maxine for joining and supporting us and Mrs Preece for being there to meet us and get our visit underway.

My School, My Community

Over the past two weeks we have been learning about the life cycle of a plant. We have started growing our own sunflowers, snow peas, carrots and sprouts in the classroom. When it gets warmer we will transplant them into our school vegetable gardens.

Here are our grass people

For art we where inspired from this terms topic My School, My Community and created these stunning sunflower portraits.
