Fun Science with Dave

Dave, the scientist from the University of Otago Chemistry OutReach came to have a fun science day with us all. We made stalagmites, changed the colour of liquids, made liquid change in 15 seconds exactly (the exact time to say a magic spell!) and used different chemicals to change the colour of flames.

The Day Wilbur Came To School

We had a special visit today from Wilbur, Hunter's baby pig. Hunter showed us how to hold Wilbur carefully and told us how to he takes care of him. Wilbur doesn't like being on his back and lets out an ear-piercing squeal to let us all know.

Thanks Janetta for bringing Wilbur to school.

Percy's Fundamental Fun Day

Crosscountry

Congratulations to Nate, Liam, David, Devon, Layla (back row) Louie, Eva, Isla, Hunter, Delrio, James (front row)  and Leo who all participated in the Taieri Schools Crosscountry event held at Outram this year. All the age groups had considerable distances to run and it was great to see all our athletes finish the course. Well done, you all strived to achieve your best.

Special congratulations  to Devon who came 5th in the Year 5 Girls Taieri Schools Crosscountry and represented Taieri Beach School at the Otago Primary Schools Sports Association Crosscountry held at Kaikora Valley School. She had even further to run than she did at Outram over a more demanding course. Well done Devon.

Well done to Tori, Lily and Harry who participated in the crosscountry practices at school but were unable to attend the Taieri Crosscountry event.
