At the end of last term, the children used their child sized lathe to create a variety of objects. Blair and I then took the children to visit our next door neighbour, Bob Draper, to see him working on his lathe. Bob explained the uses and safety aspects of hand and machine tools and our children were absolutely memorised for the whole time.

Both the children now have a spurtle (a Scottish tool for stirring porridge) that Bob made on the lathe to remind them of their visit. Many thanks Bob.

We have been rock painting this term. Look how amazing they have turned out.

We are getting ready for the change of seasons. We are currently growing peas, swedes, potatoes, corn, beetroot, lettuce and peas.

We also sowed cosmo flowers which are growing great!!

Tyla and Ryker had so much fun making these stress balls with balloons and flour. Great mahi Tyla and Ryker.

Tyla made some driftwood wall art to brighten up our walls. Love the beautifu colours in the paua shells. Tino pai, Tyla.

Tyla made a beautiful shell hanger for our classroom window. What a nice surprise for Mrs O.

Ka pai te mahi Tyla.😀

The tamariki did some great mahi for our Firewise unit. 😆
